Hi, thanks for stopping by my running blog! Here are a few things that ought to help you get to know me better:
Who: My name is Tracy and I’m a 34-year-old mother of one who runs a small business out of my home in St. Louis, MO. Before becoming a parent, I worked as a Human Resources Generalist for a truck brokerage and logistics company. I have since retired, choosing my family over my career. Now I keep myself busy with my passion for running and manning my website full-time.
Where: I was born and raised in St. Louis but my parents’ roots are in Manhattan, NY. Unfortunately, it’s been awhile since I last visited my family’s hometown and in no way am I familiar anymore with the places to go to! So if anyone of my dear readers is from there and would love to give me a tour, please email me. I’d love to hear from you!
Why: I first started this site as a way for me to keep my motivation up. Don’t get me wrong; I love to run but laziness can get to me too. I believed that by documenting my progress and seeing actual improvements in my own training log, I would be reminded concretely of how far I’ve come and that there are plenty more personal records I’d love to smash!
With that said, you could imagine my surprise when I found out I had readers and messages in my email, telling me how inspired they were and I should continue writing about my runs. Most of them were also full-time moms like me who were trying to shed off the pounds gained from pregnancy. I’m happy to say, after almost a decade in, a handful of them are still my good friends and also running buddies!
Over time, I decided to broaden my scope and help my readers prepare and train for marathons. While a lot of the things I write about are based on my experiences, I also aspire to use my site as a platform to find other like-minded people and for other runners to discuss this most wonderful sport.
So again, thank you for dropping by my site and the messages you continue to send my way; they keep me going, pushing me to keep on running in my beloved St. Louis.
Please visit again for more updates about my journey training for my next marathon this 2016!
